Hyderabad: Symantec Corporation is set to expand its research and development mandate out of India, with a focus on new generation products and customisation requirements for markets in the region.
The Vice-President of India product Operations, Symantec Corporation, Shantanu Ghosh, told Business Line that the company researchers are working on a host of new products from its development centres based in Pune and Chennai covering both enterprises and individual users.
"We now have over 2,500 people working on a wide range of products and contributing significantly to intellectual property (IP) creation. Many of them may eventually lead to patents. As a part of this, we have set up a committee that will assist in patent filings," he said.
