Scripting time-out Javascript
example javascript code
<script>
function test(val){
alert('ok'+val);
}
setTimeout(test(5),1000);
</script>
The above code doesn't seem to work. what am I doing wrong?
I prefer to not use setTimeout. Instead try looking up Extjs.com. Their library has something called DelayedTask which provides what you have asked for. Thanks.. |

Java and C++
I'm struggling to understand the differences between aliases and pointers.
Can anyone help this newbie? Please explain this concept in plain English and include examples if possible. Appreciate your help
Thanks :)
well I'm no expert but aliases offer a way for the programmer to refer to a particular address space using different names (and hence aliases). To take an intelligent guess the compiler will refer to one memory space using various names. Pointers are slightly different in that a variable refers to a memory space, that contains a different memory space as its value okay? |

Go green-The Tree of Knowledge
The pipal stands some 70 or 80 feet, grows very big and lives long. It grows quickly and grows into a strong tree and its roots can break even rocks. Some trees in Asia are said to be thousands of years old. It is the 'Tree of Knowledge' for the East. If Buddhism has made it the enlightened tree, Hinduism considers this sacred in many ways. In India it is venerated.

Berlin's famed Philharmonic caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, sending huge clouds of smoke into the sky over the German capital.
The city's fire department rushed to the scene with more than 20 trucks and nearly 200 firefighters, but the spokeswoman said they might need reinforcements. They have also had to remove some of the metal sheeting with blowtorches so water did not simply run down the sides of the structure.

At the same time, von der Leyen confirmed her intention to further increase the "father's component" of the family allowance. In addition the children's allowance shall be further developed in the next legislative period. Furthermore the experts propose a better tax deductability of "housekeeping related services". |
