This sciatic nerve runs from the lumbar or lower back regions to the foot, along the back of one's thigh. So the pain is normally felt in lower regions of back, backside and along the back of thigh, running to foot.

HSBC (0005) recorded US$3.2 billion (HK$25 billion) of loan impairment charges in the first quarter for its US consumer finance business, down from US$4.6 billion in the fourth quarter last year, but chairman Stephen Green said the deterioration in the US housing market will likely extend into 2009.

Women who breast-feed for longer have a smaller chance of getting rheumatoid arthritis, according to a new study. The study also found that taking oral contraceptives, which are suspected to protect against the disease because they contain hormones that are raised in pregnancy, did not have the same effect.

NEW YORK—A New York City man is suing JetBlue Airways Corp. for more than $2 million because he says a pilot made him give up his seat to a flight attendant and sit on the toilet for more than three hours on a flight from California.
