Stress - individual and family
coding problem!
We are planning a new software project. I have some basic questions on the architecture.
I function as a product manager for this product and I would like some advice on basic questions so we do not over engineer our products, keep it simple and ensure a timely release.
My questions might seem to be anti Java as in the past I have extensive C programming experience. But now in Java the app server is very common and my tech leads are pushing for JBOSS.

Countdown to the Beijing Olympics
67 days to go . . .
67: The number of countries that were represented at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, two less than had participated in Helsinki four years previously.
Among those nations making their Olympic debut in 1956 were teams from Cambodia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Kenya, Liberia, Taiwan, Uganda, Malaya and North Borneo (the latter two countries now combined as Malaysia).
The Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland did not compete because of the Soviet invasion of Hungary while Egypt and Lebanon declined to attend because of the French and British intervention in the Suez Canal dispute.

Olympic champion Michael Johnson says he was "shocked" by former teammate Antonio Pettigrew's doping admission and will return the gold medal the two of them helped the United States win in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
"As difficult as it is, I will be returning it to the International Olympic Committee because I don't want it," Johnson wrote in a column in today's Daily Telegraph in London. "I feel cheated, betrayed and let down."

UK's Brown won't attend Olympics opening
He became the second major world leader after German Chancellor Angela Merkel to decide to stay away from the opening ceremonies, although Brown's office insisted Wednesday that he was not boycotting the Olympics and would attend the closing ceremony.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy said last month that he was debating not attending the opening ceremony.
Asked whether President Bush would go to the opening portion of the Olympics, White House press secretary Dana Perino demurred, citing the fluid nature of a foreign trip.
